The Berber people, who live in the south-west of Morocco, have produced and treasured argan oil for centuries. The ancient argania spinosa tree grows exclusively in this region.
The oil comes from cold-pressing the seed of the argan fruit. The process of collection and extraction involves several stages and skilled hand work. It takes 15 hours and 30kg of fruit to produce just one litre.
Argan oil boasts many unique health and medicinal properties which has led to it’s recent recognition in the Western World. This includes the exceptionally high Vitamin E level, which makes it a very powerful antioxidant.
Used externally, it is cell rebuilding and therefore fantastic on the skin and hair. Internally, it has been proven amongst other things to aid digestion, lower bad cholesterol and control blood sugar levels.
