Roasted Pumpkin and Turmeric Soup

It’s that spooky time of the year!

Where pumpkins are carved and trick or treaters line the streets on a quest to fill their buckets full of sweets and choccies…

However, we at Arganic will be tucking into something that will tantalise our taste buds and is full to the brim with flavour with our digital guru Abigail’s Roasted Pumpkin and Turmeric Soup.

Roasted Pumpkin Soup

Health Benefits of Turmeric

We have entwined the seasonal flavour of pumpkin with the taste of turmeric and cumin to bring to you a soup with depth and also nutritional benefit.

By combining argan oil with turmeric we are able to maximise the health benefits of this incredible superfood while adding a naturally healthy dose of good fat to optimise digestion and boost vitamin E levels.

According to Dr Kirsten Brandt (Newcastle University, Senior Lecturer):

Adding fat or heating it {turmeric} up makes the active ingredients more soluble, which would make it easier for us to absorb the turmeric.

Symmetry Breakfast, M’smmen using Arganic

Symmetry Breakfast

First and foremost we want to say a huge congratulations to our friends Michael and Mark at Symmetry Breakfast. This year they launched their first book Cook-Love-Share to bring breakfast to life in kitchens all around the world.

If you haven’t heard about this visionary concept already get ready to have your breakfast revolutionised.

Symmetry Breakfast was born when Michael’s partner Mark moved in with him. After rearranging their apartment and gaining a new dining table (the table seen in the photos) Symmetry Breakfast came to life. With a Chinese and Scottish background – Michael grew up with a different concept to what is considered ‘normal’ and harnessed this to develop one of instagrams best loved pages. Learning and discovering the traditions of where food comes from inspired him to create a new breakfast every single morning with no repeats.

Both on a personal and professional level we at Arganic love Symmetry Breakfast and the incredible author behind it. Congratulations Michael.

(p.s. Symmetry Breakfast are also fans of Arganic and use our Culinary Oil in their wonderful M’smmen – click here for the recipe)

A Peak Into Where We Work And Our Top Shoreditch Picks

Hello all!

We are so fortunate to work in such a vibrant, inspirational part of London. This short Shoreditch Scene video shares our story and gives you a little glimpse into life at Arganic.

When we are not working hard at our wonderful co-working space, Second Home, we are out discovering Shoreditch’s best eats. Here are a few of our favourites:

CREAM, New Inn Yard:  forget quick, boring lunches. This hidden gem off Shoreditch High Street does a really, REALLY good beetroot cured salmon. Oh, and the trout and radish salad wasn’t too bad either. The ever-changing menu always offers new and exciting dishes.

Nude coffee shop, Hanury Street – For all the cookie, coffee and beard lovers out there, this is your place. We’ll hold our hands up though – we frequent this place mostly for the staff. They can almost always guarantee some good mid-afternoon chitchat.
Blixen, Spitalfields – When the going gets tough, we like to treat ourselves to a working lunch. We can often be found sitting in the booths in the art deco inspired main room, or in the garden at the back for when we need to get creative. The kale, burrata, and beetroot salad. Yep.

Franze and Evans, Redchurch street –  our favourite street in Shoreditch. Redchurch street is home to all of Shoreditch’s talent. And what better way to admire it, than over some delicious eggs benedict?
Ottolenghi, Spitalfields – For some indulgence, or just a pick me up,  Ottolenghi’s dessert counter has everything from banana fritters to trifle.  Repent later, it’s worth every bite.
